Ah!! Summer is finally here! Okay, so not officially, but it feels like it to me. School is almost out for the kiddos and everyone is already heading out on vacations. I caught the summer feels early I guess!
I wanted to share this post about my latest skincare routine that has really made my skin feel amazing and give off a glow. Yes, I know I’m pregnant and skin tends to do that anyway, HOWEVER, even before I was pregnant I used these products and my skin was just as glowy! I aim for a radiant look all throughout the year, but there is never a time such as the summer where you can show it off. My whole goal in the summer is minimal makeup, a nice tan, and glowing skin. Let’s change up your routine and get to summer goddess status ASAP.
First, I want to start off by asking you if you take your makeup off every night..
I have totally been there, but it was after a few too many martinis. I take my makeup off EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Totally crucial. There is no other makeup removing product I’ll use besides two different items: The Beautycounter Cleansing Balm and/or the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser. I alternate using these. One of my fav reasons for using each of these is because they don’t require water to mix which locks in moisture and both of them literally MELT the makeup right off your face. The Beautycounter Balm has other amazing purposes too such as helping to get rid of visible scarring and locks in moisture on dry areas of your body. Read the full review here.
Next, it’s time to wash. If I chose to use the Beautycounter Balm I will have taken a wet hot cloth to wipe away the emulsified makeup. If I use the Tatcha Oil will move straight into the washing. I use my exfoliating St. Ives Facial Scrub to get the bulk of the grime off first. Next, I move onto a creamy foaming cleanser and apply it directly to my Clarisonic Facial Brush. I’ve always loved using Shiseido. They have one called, Benefiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam…. its amazing. This final step with the Clarisonic really gives me an overall SUPER clean and fresh feeling, and I always use the sensitive head brush on it so that I don’t overdo it with the exfoliating. I also only exfoliate at night. Exfoliating is probably one of the MOST important steps when achieving glowing skin, and if you haven’t ever done this you will experience breakouts in the first week or so because your skin will be expelling all the dirt and grime underneath. After a few weeks of using the brush/exfoliating you’ll notice a HUGE difference in your skin!!! TRUST ME.
Every other day I like using a resurfacing mask for over night. All masks are different (some you leave on some you wash off) Just read the instructions! I’m using Drunk Elephant right now and LOVING IT! I like resetting my skin for an even skintone.
I love the Tatcha Dewy Skin Collections right now. The night cream is light and doesn’t feel like it goes on thick at all (which I like because I will then add facial oil on top). The day cream is fantastic and gives me a great base to build my makeup on for the day, or just to leave bare. You can use either of these BOTH day and NIGHT.
Yall. The sun is so harmful to our skin and can seriously make us look absolutely awful. Dark spots, skin cancer, you name it. I love Beautycounter for protection on my body and my face. They have a brand new product called, Countersun Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Mist SPF 30. I haven’t yet tried this one, but I’ve used their previous one from last year and I was obsessed. This company is mission based and keeps all the harsh chemicals out of all of their products. I feel so safe using this for the chemical reason as well as protection from the sun.
My fav thing on a Sunday. Masking. I am obsessed with 2 right now: The Beautycounter Charcoal Balancing Mask and the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask. You could probably use the charcoal first and then follow with the radiance one for insane results. The charcoal mask brings out all the nasty impurities from your skin and the radiance mask literally brightens your skin like crazy. I love using the radiance one when I have an event in the evening. Follow up with the Violet-C Radiance Serum (20% Vitamin C + 10% AHA) for the ultimate affect. I also use these fun under eye pads from VII Code to get rid of puffiness and dark circles!
WHEW! That was a lot, but totally required! I wanted yall to get the full scoop on what I use! If you have any questions about any of the products listed feel free to give me a message, comment, email, DM, whatever!
Stay Glowing!
Always, B
