I’ve been looking forward to sharing this post with you for a while! I have received so many comments and questions about Botox injections, and I’m answering them all right here. I’ve always been a big advocate for Botox and facial fillers because it has truly boosted my confidence, and I feel that if you’re confident in how you look and feel- YOU can do anything!
My personality started showing up on my face when I turned 28 years old. What I mean is, I’ve always been such an expressive and animated person, so all those years of being me started showing up as forehead wrinkles! I didn’t really mind them so much when I first noticed them, but as time went on I started getting a little self-conscious. My makeup started creasing and caking, and you could see it in all my photos. My forehead wrinkles felt like deep horizontal lines that seemed to be visible no matter what expression I was making. I knew I was ready to get my first Botox treatment. My mom also told me I could use a little! Gotta love he honest moms out there! Haha!
In total, I’ve received around 2-3 treatments of Botox and my last procedure was done by Dr. Rednam here in Houston. She is an absolutely amazing Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and is so sweet. I completely trusted her and felt right at home. She distributed a total of 32 units of Botox throughout my problem areas. My deep forehead wrinkles, between my eyebrows, and she even gave my brows a little lift by injecting a tiny amount on each brow! I can’t tell you what a difference it has made, so I included my before and after pictures to show you! I look so much more awake and have more light in my eyes. The whole procedure has really smoothed everything out and brightened up my whole face!
I try and go refresh myself every 4 months. Botox is an amazing product. It may not be a permanent fix, but it is so worth it. I think as a woman we do so much. We work hard in our careers, for our families, for our kids, and we deserve to look and feel our best! Botox is just a little something that can help enhance your natural beauty and leave you feeling ready to face the world!
If you have any questions on my Botox treatment with Dr. Rednam please comment below! In the meantime, here are several answers to some of the questions I’ve received from all of you!
Does it hurt?
I won’t say getting Botox is completely painless, but I will say you can definitely handle it. All it feels like are little tiny pokes made from the smallest of needles! I usually don’t get numbing cream, but Dr. Rednam offers this as an option for those who don’t tolerate pain well. I loved using the numbing cream. Why not try it out?
When do you see results? Is it immediate?
No, the results are not immediate, but you’ll feel the product working later on after the procedure. You’ll see the maximum effect take place 5-7 days after you receive your injections.
How much is it?
Usually Botox units are around $12-$13 dollars per unit.
How long does it last?
Botox usually lasts anywhere from 3-4 months. For myself, I have had to get it right at 3 months or slightly before. I metabolize Botox quickly. You want to stay on top of your treatments!
These were some of the most popular questions, but if you have any others please feel free to reach out!
Special thanks to Dr. Rednam and to Karinn at You Squared Media!
