SO…
I’ve started to put away all the winter sweaters and garb because I am beyond ready for Spring. I stepped outside in a light sweater/cardi and the humidity literally slapped me in the face. It’s definitely time to start swapping the closets around. Once you feel that clammy sweaty feeling of a sweater against your skin…. you know what I’m talking about. I’m getting chills thinking about it LOL I don’t know why it bothers me so much.
I always like to have things organized, so I know exactly what I have and what I need to update my wardrobe. Many times, when I swap closets for an upcoming season, I tend to give away a lot of my clothes that I don’t want. SO, I need to sift through and remember what I kept and what I may need to re-up on. It’s always good to go grab some new basics to mix and match with outfits. Black and white short sleeved cotton shirts to wear with cute linen shorts that tie in the front… super cute and easy Spring outfit. Pair with some Tory Burch sandals and a statement necklace.
I also had Clyde in September, so I’m bringing out all my old denim shorts and jeans. I wlould consider these basics as well. We all change over time, so some of these may not fit anymore. Try on sessions can give you a quick indicator of what needs to go and what stays.
Take all your winter OTK boots and put them up. It’s time for cute wedges and sandals. I was thrilled to see a lot of my shoes from last Spring are available again at Nordstrom! I’ve linked some below in the Shop the Post widget. I like to stuff my boots with tissue paper so that they keep a good shape until they’re ready to be worn again. It really helps keep wrinkles and lines out of the material, and they look newer.
Check out the latest trends and see what you will actually wear. Again, our styles change and it’s never a bad idea to get rid of what just isn’t jiving with you anymore. Right now, flowy skirts and floral dresses are a must have! I am obsessed with pairing a graphic tee knotted at the front with a full patterned skirt. There are so many fun and bold styles trending right now. One line I am particularly fond of is the Conscious Collection at H&M. The dress I’m wearing in this shoot was from there and I just so happened to find the very last one in store. I’ve linked several options from the collection below! So many finds perfect for Spring!
It is really a great time to get creative and have fun with fashion. Don’t overthink it. Pairing a flowy floral dress with some fun sneakers seems to be an easy, but fashion forward look. I also swear by the basics. Keep a camel color trench coat handy for those rainy Spring days. It’s a light coat that matches any outfit and looks chic as well! You can’t go wrong with keeping versatile options to interchange in your wardrobe.
I wanted to also inform you that as part of my nonprofit launch I am also starting a closet. If you have any business casual clothing available that you would like to donate please contact me at stewardsofrestoration@gmail.com. This closet is going to offer survivors of human trafficking business chic clothing that they can wear to interviews once they are ready for independent living. These individuals come from all walks of life and I work with an amazing group who has dedicated their efforts to stop human trafficking. We would greatly appreciate any clothing you may have to donate!
