My Fall senses are tingling and even though it’s a thousand degrees outside I can feel Fall on its way!
These photos were taken last year when I was pregnant with Clyde, but I still style my wardrobe to transition to Fall with these tips-bump or no bump!
I CAN’T WAIT FOR COOLER TEMPS, fun sweaters, leggings, booties, layers, and ALL THE FALL THINGS! I think it’s a mix of both. Honestly, if you come over for a visit you’ll already be welcomed by a festive front porch… I got on the ball a little early LOL. I’m just so excited and who doesn’t LOVE the Fall season and all that comes with it?!
I recently swapped out all my closets to Fall and did a major clean out. I donate a huge amount of my clothing to Goodwill every year and I think we all should do so before school starts. I like hitting that time of year so that students can afford to get some new things for their wardrobes and feel that very important confidence when heading back to school!
I didn’t hit the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year because the budget was pretty tight due to COVID. Secondly, I feel like they always have the same items on repeat, or similar. I have many staple pieces, but I did find some cute fall fashion pieces that updated my closet!
It’s still hot as hell here in Texas this time of year and will be for some time until we hit Thanksgiving. The main things I look for when I’m in this Fall transition period are light weight sweaters I can throw over a cami or lace bralette, skinnies, and ankle booties. The heavy sweaters, cowl neck items, and wool plaid coats hang in my closet until it’s their time to shine.
I love the off the shoulder light tops/sweaters. They are so versatile and can be tied at the bottom and paired with a pleated skirt, or white skinnies (like I did here). It’s all about the mixing and matching right now. I am also loving all the statement prints lately that really stand out and pull an outfit together without much effort. These are some of my favorite Steve Madden booties! These are sold out, but I’m linking some similar ones here.
I’ve also started to incorporate hats into my wardrobe now as well. I really wasn’t a hat person until I discovered the cutest structured hats from Lack of Color! They are perfect for this time of year because it’s SO sunny- I’ve really enjoyed the hats! Not to mention these are from Australia which makes this brand so much more exciting and sexy to have for some reason hahaha!
I am going more simple in my accessories as well. I love wearing golds all the time, but they seem to really stand out in the Fall more for some reason. I actually have some really cute Boho Style options from my boutique, The Gilded Hive, that are perfect for any season!
Keep it simple, guys! In my opinion, less is more right now and we can get crazy into layers when it makes more sense (aka we aren’t sweating our makeup off!) If you have any questions about where I got everything let me know! My sweater is from VICI from last year, but I’ve linked some similar.
Hope you have fun cleaning out the closets and updating your wardrobes! It’s so much fun! Cheers to almost FALL and transitioning our wardrobes to a fun new season!
