Hey there, loves!

BOY, has this pregnancy really tested my will power (or lack there of). I have been so naughty when it comes to giving in to those strong sweet tooth cravings. I mean… you say the word chocolate and I’ve already sniffed it out, unwrapped the deliciousness, and eaten at least 2 by the time you look up at me. It’s bad, ya’ll.

Despite all the sweet stuff I’ve devoured I discovered a product that has been such a fantastic addition to the healthier choices I”m trying my best to make everyday. I just partnered with the Almond Cow Plant-Based Milk Maker and I am loving it! I’m no professional milk maker, plant-based food guru, or total health nut by any stretch, but I have totally enjoyed learning about all the health benefits that come from consuming plant-based milk from my favorite nuts!

What I like the best about this product is how convenient it is. I can literally use any nut of my choosing and I know exactly what is going into my milk. It’s also SO easy to use. You just fill the can with your nuts, attach the can to the blade working end, add water, and press the button. DONE. Milk is made, my friends!

My first time using the Almond Cow I thought the end result was a little watery, but it turns out I don’t think I used enough nuts. The milk itself is delicious and pure. The capture/filter cup keeps the milk completely smooth and doesn’t taste gritty at all. In fact, when you open the filter can when you’re done making your batch you’ll find a TON of delicious remnants that you can use for so many other healthy recipes. You could dry it and create a granola, a topping, ingredients for a healthy nut bar, perhaps? Nothing goes to waste here which is great since nuts in mass amounts aren’t that cheap.

Here are a few benefits of drinking plant-based milk:

  • No cholesterol

  • Most are low in fat

  • Jam packed with vitamins and minerals

  • Great for lactose intolerant individuals

  • Combo of mono and polyunsaturated fats

  • Great for those with a slower digestive system

  • Almond milk (like I’ve made) is naturally creamy, full of vitamins, and magnesium

Is it worth the time and the effort? Absolutely! Mainly because it takes absolutely no time at all to create a delicious alternative to dairy quickly and effectively! My Almond Cow came with a pretty little glass container to store all my milk and I currently have a jug in the fridge chilling. I even added liquid Stevia to give mine a teeny bit of sweetness for my cornflakes tomorrow morning. The Almond Cow also comes with a set of instructions, ideas for nut combinations, and ideas for how to use your leftover nut mixture. We love all the options this milk maker has given us and we can’t wait to try out some new recipes soon!

I’ll be sure to log my latest recipes using the Almond Cow and let you know how they turn out. If you’re a pro at all things plant-based I would love to hear from you! I am loving learning about this stuff!

PS. UPDATE- It is the next day and we tried our almond milk I let sit overnight with liquid stevia… It is SO delicious and my husband approves!

Cheers!

Britny
